Think of these projections as the most likely outcome of these players. On a scale of 1-100, view these numbers as the midpoint, but remember players can fluctuate on either side. Sometimes they have breakout years (Brendan Ryan), and sometimes they dissapoint (Lohse). Here's a link to the 2009 ones- http://www.baseballprojection.com/2009/ch2009.html

I'd like to know what the Chone predictions were for last year so I know how much credibility to give these numbers.

I hear what you were saying pat, and I agree it's unlikely that the playing time estimates are right. Sure a guy like Craig doesn't project to have that much pt, but what if holliday, ludwick, freese, or albert gets hurt? Then it's possible he might. I get what you are saying, but it's almost impossible to forecast bench guys playing time, so that's why I just went with the chone but made sure I say in how many ab's.

Motle- yes they are unproven, but even proven guys have to be unproven at some point. With most of the flexibilty used up, it's time to see if guys like craig and jay can cut it.

As always appreciate the comments guys

Way too much unpredictability for the bench to be considered as very good.

Last years had some "names" on it but was rather anemic. this year is the opposite with "no names". We shall see.

Chone has Craig at 461 PA's in 2010, but what's a more reasonable projection? He can't play third, and with Pujols at 1st and Holliday in LF, where does he get those at bats?
