Cardinals Organization Welcome Bloggers with First Class
On Sunday, the Cardinals invited about two dozen bloggers along with a guest to attend the game. Prior to first pitch, they ushered us to their conference room area and welcome us with free soda and water. Then PR person Ron Watermon got it started with some general information and informed the bloggers they would receive a complimentary copy of the new digital media guide and then turned it over to GM John Mozeliak.
He was very open and honest in his talks and a follow-up question and answer session. He talked about trading deadline and the propensity of some to “over pay” for just one season. Mozeliak said that no player is labeled as “untradeable” because you don’t know what the other team may offer. Later, he was asked about trading Scott Rolen and he had a very funny story to tell regarding how that went down.
President Bill DeWitt III then discussed Ballpark Village and responded to questions about its profitability and if profits would return to the baseball side of the organization. He answered that was too early to decide. He mentioned Phase II and III are getting closer and that included living facilities and such.
Vicky Bryant, Food Director, talked about the challenges of the Cardinals now being in the restaurant business with the new Cardinal Nation at Ballpark Village. Then Chef Nathan Taylor talked to us about the food he prepares and some food dishes he had invented and we would have the opportunity to sample and give feedback on them.
Next, we went to the all-inclusive suite and were treat with those new food dishes and other great foods throughout the game as the Cardinals won 5-3.
The Cardinals are GRACIOUS and kind to include us into their family in a small way. Now we know why St. Louis Cardinal fans are the “Best Fans in Baseball”.
Thanks to the Cardinals!!
