Jeremy Hefner started the game and threw five innings allowing 5 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 2 and srtruck out 5 batters. He was followed to the mound by John Church, Dean Kiekhefer, Juan Gonzalez and Tuivailala. The offense was led by Dean Anna as he went 2-for-4 and Jacob Wilson with a home run and 3 runs batted in.

Springfield (AA) won 5-1 as Harrison Bader continues his hot hitting as he went 3-for-5 and now is batting .366 on the season. Illinois State product Paul DeJong was 2-for-4 with a home run to jump start the offense. Andrew Morales got the start and was on the mound for 3 innings, followed by Chris Perry for 3.2 innings and John Brebbia finished as he blew the save but picked up the win.

Palm Beach (High-A) was defeated 5-3 as the offense was stymied and Orlando Olivera was the lone bat that produced as he went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s. Blake McKnight took the loss to drop his record to 0-3. Cody Schumacher and Silfredo Garcia each pitched in the game.
Peoria (Low-A) lost another game to see their record sink to 10-15 on the year. Eliezer Alvares had 3 hits including 2 doubles, Edmundo Sosa and Magnueris Sierra each contributed 2 hits in the loss. Jake Woodford pitched 5.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs while fanning seven batters. Juan Perez suffered the loss in the game and Chandler Hawkins along with Steven De La Cruz finished the game on the hill.
